Kerala is well known the world over for its scenic beauty. In a landscape unique to Kerala, hundreds of interlinked canals weave their way between paddy fields spilling into the palm fringed lakes. At Golden Waters an intricate lacework of canals intersect the 17 acre waterfront property.
ACCOMMODATION: There are 28 quaint cottages, all constructed on the banks of the canals. In fact some of these cottages are on stilts in the water. Each cottage is accessible by boat or by foot over cobbled pathways and rustic bridges. The cottages themselves have air conditioned interiors with all modern amenities for a comfortable stay. The cottages are located on 13 islands and you can fish out of each cottage window.
HOUSEBOAT: The ultimate waterfront experience is an overnight cruise on a traditional Kerala rice boat. The charming cocoon shaped silhouette has been retained and the interior has been converted into an elegant suite complete with bedroom, living and dining area and all other modern amenities. The boats are manned by experienced crew, well versed in local lore and always ready to dish out delectable dishes as the boat navigates the still backwaters.
The "Kettuvallam" is made entirely of jackwood planks tied (kettu) together with strong coir rope to form a huge barge (vallam). The boat is constructed without using a single nail and is coated with a special resin obtained from boiling cashew kernels.
AYURVEDA & SPA: Golden waters is an ayurvedic resort with a difference. Kalari treatment has its roots in age-old tradition. We offer you the rare privilege of Kalari treatment at the hands of experts. Kalari is an unique system of healing combining herbal oil massages with application of pressure on specific nerve points. This knowledge of the vital points is also crucial to Kalaripayattu, the famous martial art form.

CONFERENCES: Conduct conference at the ethnic heritage style non air conditioned conference hall. This size of the conference hall is 17 meters X 9 meters. This could accommodate 100 pax in theatre style. We have a compact conference hall, which is ideal for board meetings or small conferences of 20-25 people. We offer you an exotic experience of having a conference in an a/c houseboat, which can seat 150 people. Anew conference hall is under construction, which can seat up to 250 people. |
