  • Bhimbethka Caves: 45 Kms from Bhopal. The Upper Palaeolithic period rocks paintings still adore the walls of the caves.
  • Bhojpur: 28 Kms from Bhopal city. Founded in the 11th Century by Parmara King, who also established Bhopal, Bhojpur is dominated by the monumental though incomplete, Bhojeshwar Temple. Impressive sculptures cover parts of its unfinished corbelled ceiling and its entrance doorway.
